Hee Haw, Nonce, and Questions about Leg Callipers!
Coming Soon: Hee Haw
When a girl celebrating her first communion is snatched, her abductor expects the authorities to come searching. When there is no obvious reaction, he questions what’s going on. His victim is compliant, maybe too compliant, but as her demeanour becomes increasingly erratic, the boundaries of their relationship blur. Who is being controlled, and who is in control?
Hee-Haw is a psychological horror, with humour as dark as the darkest pitch.
Estimated launch: October 2023
Coming Soon: Nonce
Danny Dazzler is—in his own mind—an up and coming star of the Glam Rock scene, but is he stable enough to survive in the world of Rock and Roll? As the hedonism of the 1970s crumbles before him, Danny is sucked ever deeper into the abyss, until he finds himself in a nightmare world from which there only seems one escape.
Nonce is a short story, and will initially only be available for subscribers to this newsletter. More details next time!
Fucked-up Bedtime Stories - an Update
I suppose it had to happen! The collected edition of the first series of Fucked-up Bedtime Stories has been banned by a number of outlets! The reasons are, to be fair, probably justified!
I particularly like the claim the book is ‘intended to stir sexual desire’. Really, if people are aroused by the content, the world has worse problems than mucky books!
The ultimate irony is out of the dozen or so platforms the book has now been banned from, Amazon isn’t one of them! This, for me, is certainly a first, although I don’t know how much longer it will be the case.
This means there are now only two places to buy the book: Amazon and Godless.
A Question about Leg Callipers
Talking of Fucked-up Bedtime Stories, I received a communication from a reader about Emily, and why she wore leg callipers. This forms part of a new Q&A feature, and you can find out the answer, and even ask your own pointless questions, here.
